OCR + AI Document Processing

Document Data Extraction,
Done Automatically

Two separate automation processes, each with its own pricing. OCR uses your custom templates to extract specific fields from scanned documents, images, HTML emails, and CSV files. AI Document Processing analyzes any text-based document using a configurable prompt and output format. Configure each once — both run in the background automatically, processing incoming documents without any manual intervention.

How It Works

Two Processes. Both Fully Automatic.

OCR and AI Document Processing are two separate, independent processes with their own pricing. Use one or both — each runs in the background automatically, processing documents as they arrive.

Document OCR — $0.25/page

1

Build a Template

Define the fields you want to extract — invoice number, vendor, totals, line items. Templates are reusable across all documents of the same type.

2

Documents Arrive Automatically

Pulse monitors for incoming documents in the background. Supported formats: PDF, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, HTML emails, and CSV files.

3

Pulse Reads the Document

Images and PDFs are processed with optical character recognition. HTML emails and CSV files are parsed directly from their text content.

4

Fields Extracted & Delivered

Structured data is populated based on your template definitions and delivered via webhook or API — push it to your accounting system, ERP, or any downstream tool automatically.

AI Document Processing — $1.00/doc

1

Configure Your Extraction

Choose an output format or let AI suggest one. Optionally supply an AI prompt with specific instructions or context for the extraction.

2

Documents Arrive Automatically

Pulse AI monitors for incoming documents in the background. Accepts any non-binary format — PDF, DOCX, XLSX, TXT, CSV, and more.

3

AI Analyzes the Document

AI reads and understands the document content, applying your prompt and output format to guide what data to extract and how to structure it.

4

Structured Data Delivered

Output is populated in your chosen format and delivered via webhook or API — route it directly to your existing systems without manual re-entry.

Why Data Automation

The Real Cost of Manual Data Entry

Slash Data Entry Costs

Manual data entry costs $1–$5 per document when you factor in labor. Pulse AI processing starts at $1.00/document — often a fraction of the labor cost.

Eliminate Errors

Human data entry error rates average 1–4%. A single transposed digit on an invoice can cost far more than your entire monthly Pulse bill.

Process at Scale

Whether it's 10 documents a day or 10,000, Pulse scales without hiring. Your cost scales linearly — no overtime, no training, no sick days.

Common Use Cases

What Teams Use Data Automation For

Invoice Processing

Extract vendor, PO number, line items, and totals from supplier invoices automatically.

Field Forms

Digitize inspection reports, work orders, and field service forms — extract the data and route it automatically.

Expense Reports

FAQ

Data Automation Questions

Document OCR: Accepts image-based files — PDF, JPEG/JPG, PNG, TIFF, and BMP — as well as HTML emails and CSV files. Images and PDFs are processed with OCR; HTML and CSV are parsed directly. Multi-page PDFs are supported; each page is billed individually.

AI Document Processing: Accepts any non-binary file format — including PDF, DOCX, XLSX, TXT, CSV, and more. If the file contains readable text, Pulse AI can extract structured data from it.

They are two fully independent processes with separate pricing — you can use one or both.

Document OCR is template-driven. You build a template that defines the specific fields you want to extract — invoice number, vendor, totals, etc. Supported sources include scanned images, PDFs, HTML emails, and CSV files. When a document arrives, Pulse reads the content and populates your defined fields. Billed per page.

AI Document Processing is prompt-driven. You specify an output format (or let AI suggest one) and optionally provide an AI prompt with context or specific extraction instructions. AI reads the document and delivers structured data in your chosen format — regardless of document layout or type. Billed per document.

Both run in the background automatically — configure them once and they process incoming documents without any manual intervention.

Document storage is completely optional — you only pay for it if you choose to keep copies of your documents in Pulse. The OCR and AI data extraction process works independently; you receive your extracted data regardless of whether you store the original document. Storage is billed at $0.01 per MB per month. A typical scanned page is 100–500KB, so 1,000 pages costs roughly $1–$5/month. You can delete stored documents at any time.
